My knitting story

I learned knitting from my amazingly talented mother Dagný Þórðardóttir in the covid pandemic 2020. i didn't have much to do at that time. She was persistent in asking me to knit with her in the covid time. I thought i would feel embarressed and told her that it's only for women to do, i can´t be seen knitting. i just needed a little more encouragement and then she cast on loops for a hat so i could start knitting some hats for my friends in the U.K. we had so much fun together and it helped me a lot because i was going through difficult time then. After that i haven´t been able to stop knitting. She has tought me to knit hats, headbands, Beveragegloves/beergloves and Loveglove/couplesgloves. She has been knitting since she was 16 years old or for 43 years. she has sold and given hundreds of sweaters, woolen socks, mittens, hats, shawls, headbands for her children , grandchildren and in-laws . this is her only hobby she has. She can knit one sweater in 24 hour along with her work tool: The TV as she calls it. She has mastered the technique of watching shows for a long time without even looking at what she is knitting without mistakes. Never underestimate power of women with knitting skills. :) I'm so thankful for having mother for a teacher in knitting and there is so much more she has tought me as well.
